Getting Started
You do not need an account to start. Open coomet.chat, choose video, audio or text, and press Go Live.
Creating an account later is optional and mainly useful if you want your balance and preferences to persist.
Camera and Microphone
Video mode asks your browser for camera and microphone permission. This prompt comes from the browser, not from CooMet, so if you dismissed it you will need to re-enable access in your browser settings.
On iOS Safari, camera permission lives under Settings → Safari → Camera. On Android, open the site settings from the address bar and reset permissions, then allow when asked again.
If you would rather not use a camera at all, pick audio or text before connecting.
Matching
You are placed into a private room with one person. Tap Next to leave and be matched with someone else, or hang up to stop.
Text is translated automatically, so you can talk to someone who does not share your language.
Free Minutes and Payments
Your first minutes are free and do not require a card. After that, time is charged per minute from your coin balance, and the rate is shown before charging begins.
There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. You top up when you want more time.
Privacy
Chats are one-on-one rooms with no audience. There is no public profile or feed carrying your name.
Community rules prohibit taking or sharing screenshots and screen recordings of other people.
Reporting and Blocking
Reporting takes one tap from the chat and asks you to pick a reason. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
Blocking is immediate and separate from reporting — you can block without filing a report, and manage your blocked list afterwards. See safety on CooMet for detail.
Something Is Not Working
If the camera is black, another application may already be using it — close other video apps and reload the page.
If a chat will not connect, check that your browser is up to date and that a VPN or content blocker is not interfering, then try again.
